As it’s April 6 – that means… that your Xbox 360 console now has an upgrade waiting for you: it will have the ability to save data to removable USB memory drives.
Although Microsoft’s own first-party USB sticks for the XBox 360, due out next month will be pricey, as an 8GB stick will be listed at $40, while a 16GB stick is priced at $70. That will make them almost twice the price of standard comparable USB flash drives.
An update from the Xbox Live Operations Blog:
Starting at 0200 Pacific on April 6th we’ll be rolling a system update out on Xbox LIVE – to see what time that is for you, click here. It may take a few hours for everyone to be prompted for the update.
Remember though, that you can use any flash drive, so long as you’re aware that the maximum amount of data moved or stored is 16GB on any one device.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2’s ‘Squad Rush’ available to all:
All those gamers who pre-ordered Battlefield: Bad Company 2 before its release last month: are unfortunately now just a little bit less special. EA has now opened up Squad Rush mode to the public at large on the Xbox 360.
This mode pits two squads (of four players) against each other, to fight over a single M-COM station. Once the attacking team has destroyed the M-COM station, it opens up the next section of the map — a scaled-down version of the regular Rush multiplayer mode.
